A Rickshaw Challenge adventure, ‘Pimp My Tuk Tuk’, take the auto rickshaw route to Goa!
Eleven auto rickshaws are taking part in the rally, which will go on an expedition from Chennai to Goa, a distance of 1,087 km over 6 days. The travellers are carrying goods to be distributed to orphanages, along the way. The participants in the rally are from Ireland, Germany, UK and even Singapore, who are hoping to enjoy a slice of the nation along its highways.
While the team of foreigners, who are corporate heads and other senior leaders of the boardrooms, will get to perform the good act of charity, the novelty of adventure tourism — on a tuk tuk (auto rickshaw). A sum of 40,000 Singapore dollars has been raised by the participants so far, half of which will go to the construction of additional facilities at a Chennai Corporation School in Pallikaranai.
