I read shredder reviews and then I made a list of the features that I wanted in my cross cut shredder to have. A couple of the features that I wanted were the safety feature that would stop the shredder if a finger or hand was too close to the shredder-throat and the jam proof feature that would stop the shredder before a jam happens
